Wednesday night - lots of fun at cards!

April 1st Phil and I were able to return from a get-away-day in Brown County just in time for a really fun night of cards and kidding at Summer Trace. Our friend, Charlie, was telling quite a tall tale about how he had to pay for our fancy dinner (at Burger King) after the Philharmonic concert Sunday. (Please be sure to scroll down to the next post below this one to read about that.) We had to eat! We were out past Summer Trace's dinner time! Mom and the rest of us were laughing while Charlie spun his yarn. He is a great storyteller!

We got to meet Charlie's grandson and son-in-law who came down from their visit with Charlie's sweet wife, Mary Lou, in their apartment at Summer Trace. At Phil's table were Dale, Pete and Charlie. In the background are our buddies who come to visit and give their Mom a manicure every Wednesday night.

We had a new friend, Jean, join us to play Kings-in-the-Corner at a booth in Raspberry Harry's soda shop at Summer Trace. Mom's "card holder" is a padded ring holder section that I pulled out of my jewelry box. It works better than any of the commercial card holders we've tried!

Phil is great at keeping everyone relaxed and happy even during a fierce round of Euchre! At this table are Annice, Helen, Jean and Bob (Helen's husband).

I made sure Mom had everything she needs before we head to Kansas City for a long weekend.
