Puzzle Night

I could not take Mom to the concert in the park today because my August hay fever has kicked in. So......Mom and I ended up investing some serious jigsaw puzzle time with Al in the 4th floor lobby at Summer Trace!

Short Hospital Stay

August 9th brought us a bit of a surprise hospital stay. Thank you to friends and family for your encouragement and support and prayer during this time. In the picture below, our friend, Jan, and Mom are looking through the aphasia communication book Kelly Potter (who works at Summer Trace) made for Mom.

Mom and Mrs. Whiskers were so happy to be reunited upon Mom's return to her apartment at Summer Trace August 11th.

The cat wanted to be right next to her. She was patting Mom on her leg like she was just making sure she was there and everything was okay. She is such an excellent companion. Thank you again to my neighbor, Sally Marchand Collins, for sharing her cat with Mom undefinitely.

Seminary Park Concert August 1st

Phil joined Mom and I for the Barton Rogers Big Band Concert at Seminary Park in Noblesville Sunday evening. Another beautiful Indiana summer evening!

Jan Cohn's Visit July 2010

Mary's granddaughter (my niece), Jan Cohn, drove down from Chicago with Abbey, who is in training to be a therapy dog. Summer Trace arranged an apartment on the 1st floor for them which was great. I was amazed, though, how well Mrs. Whiskers (Mom's cat) and Abbey got along! Jan took Mom out shopping and to Macaroni Grill for lunch. She joined us for the Tuesday afternoon Bible Study again (she's been before). We had dinner together and - while David, Phil and I got card night started - Jan and Mom took Abbey outside for a game of catch. When they came in, Mom fed Abbey popcorn until Jan got her snacks! Jan went with us to a medical appointment and we took Mom shoe shopping. It was such a blessing to have Jan and Abbey here! Enjoy the slide show. Click arrow to play.
