Ellen's NEW Book was Show & Tell at Aphasia

Today two copies of Ellen Anne Eddy's newest book, Quick and Easy Machine Binding Techniques, arrived in my mail today so Mom had a very sweet surprise waiting for her in the car when I picked her up to go to the Aphasia Support Group meeting.

It was fun for Mom to share this new treasure with the Butler University speech students at the Aphasia Support Group meeting. They loved that Ellen dedicates each book to Mom.

It was fun seeing everyone again!

Mom had a good night with good friends.

Mom's friend, Percy, on Dallas Morning News!

One of Mom's oldest and dearest friends from Dallas, Percy Ruff, was on the Dallas Morning news today! Thank you to Joan Ruestmann for letting me know so I could find this news segment on the internet: "Our Neighbor: Percy Ruff - Even at the age of 84, Percy Ruff can thread a needle faster than anyone. Gail's Visit

My sister, Barbara Gail, was in town visiting Mom so Phil snapped this quick pic of us with David when she came by the house to pick up something.

Gail and Mom stopped by to see us on Saturday. David is staying with us for awhile and Chris and Tamara and Henry and Eli and Isabel were in town for the weekend enroute to Cincy for a family wedding.



Before she left, Phil and I went over to have dinner with Gail and Mom at Summer Trace. Phil snapped another photo. How did Mom evade my camera?!

Last of Summer

We enjoyed the last Summer Trace Cookout for this year. The outdoor cookouts have really been fun this year. Great food and great weather. We look forward to the monthly buffet dinners starting up again this fall.

Phil entertained the girls at our table with stories.

Pictured below with Mom is Liz, a private duty nursing assistant we've hired to spend personal time with Mom since I went back to work. Liz is very experienced, works for several residents at Summer Trace and has a very good working relationship with the Summer Trace staff.

She is an answer to prayer! And she loves Mom.

Lastly, we also caught the last Seminary Park summer concert in Noblesville. There was a bit of a chill in the air so I was glad I had extra blankets in my car for the Summer Trace residents who came up on the bus.
